I am stuck between decisions! What do I do?!

Updated: Aug 9, 2020

Y'all remember those cartoon shows from our youth with the devil on one shoulder and the angle on the other? The devil is trying to trick the person into making the absolute worst decision of his/her life and the angle is pleading with him/her to make the right one.

Clearly in these TV shows, the decision the devil is trying to convince the character to make is so super obvious how bad of a decision it is. But what about those decisions where neither seems wrong? You are not breaking the law or intentionally hurting anyone. So what do you do then? How do you make the right decision in these instances?

I am currently at a place where I am making many major decisions and sometimes I am a little confused on what decision to make. During those times of great confusion, you know what I do? I literally sit before the Lord and say, "Okay God, here I am. I literally have nothing to gain outside of your plan for me. Please help me to hear your voice clearly on what decision you want me to make. I am laying all of my desires to the side. I am your vessel to be used. So use me." Man, there have been numerous times where I wanted my way and God wanted His best plan for my life. And guess what I did? Yep, I went my own way and in the months and years to come I truly regretted it. And you know what happened in the end? God's way prevailed and when it did it actually was everything I was looking for. The thing about God though is He's a gentleman so if you decide to blaze your own trail, you will keep getting stuck in ruts until you surrender to his perfect and beautiful plan for you.

And I am not saying I am perfect and super obedient to God with every single second for my life, but one thing I am learning to understand is that God's plan for my life truly is ultimately the best for me. I may not see how it will all piece together at this very instant, but I know that at the end of it all, all things are working out for my good!

And that is the same for you!

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[a] for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6

So when you are torn between two decision, sit before the Lord, tell Him you are throwing away all your plans and putting all your eggs in one basket and handing it over to Him.

He will never fail you. And why is that? Because He loves you tooooo much. He sent his own son Jesus to come to this dusty ol' earth, die the most horrific death and go to hell so that He could take the place and suffer the consequences for all the things we deserved. Then on the third day He rose in victory so that we too can rise in victory with Him!!

For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8

Remember that God has a plan for it, and it is for your good!

He will help you in every decision you make in your life.

XOXO,

Jenn

What's your weird ticks?

Mine is when I'm at the gas station or warming something up in the microwave, the number MUST stop on a interval of 10. I Will literally make the tank of gas overflow if need be for it to stop on 34.10 rather than 34.04. Haha
